Eagle teams tally wins in contests with Badgers

MOBILE – Alabama Southern's Eagles tallied their third win over the season by taking a 108-70 victory over the Springhill College Junior Varsity in Mobile.

ASCC jumped out to a 57-36 lead at the half then outpaced the Badgers 51-34 in the second half to take the 38-point victory.

Charlie Wilson led the effort for the Eagles with 29 points in the game. He was followed by Antonio Chapman with 14, Johnny Stallworth with 13 and Zanavian Williams with 12 points in the game. Defensively, Wilson had 15 rebounds in the contest.

The Lady Eagles defeated the Lady Badgers 82-63. Jasmine McCants had 19 points in the game followed by Oleightra Nance and Lakeyia Dejarnette with 18 points each. Defensively, Dejarnette had eight rebounds in the game followed by McCants with seven and Amber Roberts with six.

 

PSC Sweeps Eagles In Twin Bill

Pensacola State College's Pirates swept their series with the Eagles, posting two wins in Pensacola.

The Pirates defeated the Eagles 70-49 in men's action. PSC only led by four at the half, 27-23, but came out from the intermission on fire, outgunning the Eagles 43-26 to take the victory.

For ASCC, Desmond Williams had 23 points followed by Antonio Chapman with 10. Defensively, Desmond Williams had 11 rebounds followed by Charlie Wilson with eight.

The Lady Eagles fell to the Lady Pirates 73-61. PSC jumped out to a 15-point lead at the half, 35-20. ASCC outpaced the Lady Pirates 41-38 in the second half but it wasn't enough to overcome the lead.

Oleightra Nance had 14 points to pace the effort for ASCC followed by Amber Roberts with 11 and Lakeshia Pickens with 10. Defensively, Jasmine McCants pulled down 12 rebounds in the game.

The teams will be in action Monday night on the road at Gadsden State. The Lady Eagles (4-9) play at 5:30 while the Eagles (3-11) play at 7:30.
