Marvin Jones of Shelton State has been named the ACCC Player of the Week for the week of February 8-14.
Jones helped the Buccaneers split a couple of tough conference games this week. Following a 27 point performance at Lawson State, which included 6-13 from three-point range, Jones backed it up with a 30 point barrage against Southern Union. He went 11-15 from the field, including 6-7 from behind the arc, and had 7 rebounds. For the week, Marvin shot 51% from the field (19-37), 60% from three-point range (12-20), and 78% from the free throw line (7-9).
The Atlanta, GA and Tucker High School native currently leads the ACCC in scoring per game at 19.9 and second in three-point percentage at 46.8.
Shelton State, currently 17-9 overall and 5-3 in the ACCC North, returns to action tonight when they travel to Snead State.
