Tyrique Purvis (pictured right) of Coastal Alabama-South and Ladarius Carter (pictured below) of Marion Military have been named Co-Players of the Week for January 14-20.
Purvis, a sophomore guard from Decatur, AL and Decatur HS led the Sun Chiefs to a 1-1 week with 33.5 ppg., 8 rpg., 3 apg., and 3 steals ppg. Purvis shot 61% from the field stripe as well as 87% from the free throw line.
Carter, a sophomore guard from York, AL and Sumter Centra HS led the Tigers to a 1-1 week, averaging 23 points while shooting 66% from field, including 10/15 from the three, and 100% from the charity stripe. Carter led the Tigers to an upset at #20 Shelton State by scoring 25 points on 6/9 shooting from the three.
