MMI’s Men’s Tennis Team Garners 2015-2016 All-Academic Team and Scholar-Athlete Honors

Skillman, NJ—The Marion Military Institute men's tennis team was recently named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).  In addition, six players received ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.

To receive All-Academic Team consideration, two criteria must be met:  1) a team must have an overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.2 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year, and 2) all listed student-athletes must be varsity letter winners.  Marion Military Institute's men's tennis team accumulated an impressive 3.5588 overall GPA for the 2015-2016 academic year.

The criteria for Scholar-Athlete consideration is a tad more stringent.  To receive Scholar-Athlete consideration, a scholar-athlete must achieve a GPA of 3.5 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the academic year and be a varsity letter winner for 2015-2016.  Six players met both criteria.  They included Blake McDonald (3.912), Max Holloway (3.67), Benjamin Lee (3.67), Shane McDonough (3.638), Adam Bahney (3.611), and Xavier Bell (3.538).

Congratulations to the men's tennis team for a fine year in the classroom and on the courts!
