Preview: Chattahoochee Valley Lady Pirates

Coaches O'Steen and Livingston are looking forward to an exciting 2016 season. The 2016 Lady Pirates will have a new look with a smaller – faster freshman class. Expectations will be high on the few returning sophomores. Sophomores Mady Brown and Micah Simmons will be the only starting infielders returning and Macey Tucker and Jessica Vann will be the only pitchers with playing time under their belts. The Lady Pirates will start out with a freshman outfield and new faces at catcher and first base. The initial outfield will consist of Payton Singletary, Alexis McLean, Chauntivia Cliatt, Sham Adams, and Rachel McElvaine. Behind the dish we will see Cameron Monday and returner Sarah Horne. First base will host Ariana Boutwell and returner Amber Locey.  Returning outstanding Leftfielder Brandi Atkins will fill the opening at shortstop. Freshman pitchers Margaret Mims, Kaylynn Church and Adrain Tew are expected to add strength to this year's pitching.

Alexis Flowers, Kailey Riley, Jessica Roberts, and Karlee Jennings are versatile players who can fill several positions and will add to this team in a number of different ways, offensively and defensively. Pearl Irby is a speedy freshman who will help the team on the bases.  Basketball/Softball player Skyy Ellis will join the team following Basketball season.

Coaches have high hitting expectations on Boutwell, Locey, Simmons, Atkins, and Brown who are expected to give the Lady Pirates power at the plate along with a slew of new freshmen who should add speed to our offense.

What the Lady Pirates lack in experience this year should be made up by freshman excitement!
