Yasmine Beasley of Faulkner State has been named the ACCC Player of the Week for the week of January 25-31.
The sophomore from Mobile, AL and Williamson High School led the Lady Sun Chiefs to a 2-0 week. In a 67-51 victory over Chatahoochee Valley, she scored 16 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and added four blocks. Beasley ended the week by scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in a 48-40 victory over Enterprise State. She also added four steals and three blocks against the Boll Weevils.
She currently ranks ninth in the ACCC in scoring at 12.9 points a game and second in blocks.
The Lady Sun Chiefs, 14-2 overall and 5-1 in the ACCC South, return to action Thursday when they host Wallace-Selma with tops in the South on the line.
