Meredith Lovelady of #5 ranked Shelton State, has been named the ACCC Player of the Week for the week of February 1-7.
The sophomore from Madison, AL and Bob Jones High School led the Lady Buccaneers to a 2-0 week by averaging 17.5 points. Lovelady scored 13 points in a 77-63 win at East Mississippi, and followed that with a 22 point performance in a 107-52 win at Alabama Southern. The 22 point performance included Lovelady going 6 of 9 from the three-point line. For the week, she shot 56% behind the arc.
She currently ranks second in the ACCC in three-point percentage at 39.6%.
The Lady Buccaneers, 24-1 overall and 6-0 in the ACCC North, return to action Thursday when they host Southern Union State, 20-2 and 5-1, in a Northern Division showdown.
