Echols of Shelton State named Player of the Week

Kailey Echols of #5 ranked Shelton State, has been named the ACCC Player of the Week for the week of February 15-21.   

The sophomore from Ragland, AL and Ragland High School led the Lady Buccaneers to a 2-0 week by averaging 12 points.  Echols scored 14 points, and added eight rebounds and three steals in a 80-43 win Wallace State.  She added 10 points and eight rebounds in a 104-66 win over Gadsden State.

She currently ranks 11th in the ACCC in rebounds per game at 7.4, fourth in field goal percentage at 53.8, fifth in blocks and fourthin steals. 

The Lady Buccaneers, 28-1 overall and 10-0 in the ACCC North, have concluded their regular season and will be the #1 seed from the North in the upcoming ACCC Tournament.
