Lady Bucs Win Eighth Straight ACCC Title To Snag NJCAA Tourney Bid

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Shelton State Community College women's basketball team on Friday won topped Wallace State Community College - Hanceville, 63-50, to win its eighth consecutive Alabama Community College Conference title and its 18th in program history.

The win improved the Lady Bucs to a 30-3 record on the year, which was good enough to grab a No. 9 seed in the NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament in Lubbock, Texas later this month.

In her 25th year coaching, Lady Bucs head coach Madonna Thompson is on the doorstep of 700 career wins and is looking to win her first national title.

 

As the Lady Bucs gear up to travel to Texas, they will do so in the hopes of making the program's first Final Four since 2000.

No. 9 seed Shelton State will take on No. 24 seed Monroe College on Wednesday, March 22 at noon.
